"If New Zealand played at Wembley, being conservative, even if you only sold 40,000 tickets [roughly half capacity] at £30 ($66), that's £1.2 million ($2.6 million)."

Wembley Pitch Ready Says Stadium Manager

Arsene Wenger and Alex McLeish managers of the Carling Cup Final had demanded that the playing condition of the Wembley Stadium should be perfect for a game of top class football to held on Sunday.

Some problems happened at the last year final match with the state of the itch not making Sir Alex Fergsson very happy and he blamed the surface for Michael Owen`s hamstring injury.

Assurance of perfect pitched has been made by Wembley Stadium managing director Roger Maslin.

"For Arsenal who have a Desso surface they will recognise the quality of surface, the lack of divots and the speed of play. It`s in fantastic condition," Maslin said.

"It`s fundamental to our business plan to have the best possible playing surface, but at the same time it accords with our business plan as a multi-use venue.

"I won`t lose any sleep worrying about how the pitch will play now the changes have been made."

Champions League Final At Wembley Stadium

This years Champions League final will be played at Wembley Stadium, ticket prices for the final match has been set very high and organisers UEFA are profiteering at supporters' expense, say fan representatives.

On Thursday,28 May prices were unveiled and it was found that this year tickets rate nearly doubling in price in two years.

Tickets ranging from 150 to 300 pounds were available for sale, around 11000 tickets were available on open sale which contains an administration fee of 26 pounds per pair of tickets.

The two clubs in the final will each receive 25,000 tickets, ranging from 80 to 300 pounds.

"We're shocked; asking fans to pay that sort of money, especially in the current economic climate, is outrageous," Michael Brunskill, a spokesman for the Football Supporters' Federation (FSF), told Reuters on Friday.

"UEFA know that fans will want to go to what for many will be a once-in-a-lifetime event and it's nothing short of profiteering at the fans' expense.

"When UEFA announced they were going to move the final to a Saturday they said one of the reasons was to try to encourage more families to attend but how many families can afford to pay that sort of money? You could have a family holiday for that.

This years tickets prices has been defend by UEFA's director of competitions Giorgio Marchetti.
